A250 Tagline Submission Deadline!
Litchfield's Coordinating Committee for America's 250th is excited to announce a tagline competition to create a shared identity for our community’s commemoration of this historic event. The tagline will typically be paired with the logo that was selected by our community in Spring 2024 for the Semiquincentennial.
After reviewing the submitted taglines, the Committee will put forward a group of finalists so that members of the public can vote for their favorite tagline. The competition is open to all residents of Litchfield, Morris, Warren, and Goshen, as well as individuals connected to organizations, institutions, businesses, and other groups in those towns.
The winning tagline will be used to promote events and programs related to the commemoration of America’s 250th between 2025 and 2026, and may also be included on printed materials and merchandise created by the Committee or its members. The tagline will be made available to all Litchfield area organizations, institutions, businesses, and other groups who are planning events and programs connected to the 250th commemoration. The winning author will be honored at an event with Ash Royer!

Suggestions:
- Keep it concise for printing on banners and merch.
- Visit www.CT250.org and read their themes.
- Search the Community Idea List for concepts that will tie everything together.
- Be Litchfield specific together with our amazing logo.
- Be unique! (“XYZ Town Celebrates America 250” is being overused.)
Timeline for Tagline Competition:
Before February 1, 2025 - initial invitation for tagline submissions shared online
February 15, 2025 - This is the deadline for submissions (11:59 pm).
February 28, 2025 - Committee selects finalists.
March 1, 2025 - Online voting opens!
March 15, 2025 - This is the deadline for voting (11:59 pm).
ASAP after March 15, 2025 - the winner is notified and the winning tagline announced!
