Description
Start saving your cardboard for our upcoming Duct Tape Derby at the Charlene Besse Sledding Hill.
Sound weird? That's because it is! A "duct tape derby" is a competitive event where participants race down a hill on a sled or vehicle they built primarily using cardboard and duct tape, often with creativity in design being a key factor in judging. There will be prizes for best decorated sled, fastest time down the hill, and more. (pending snow) ALL AGES ARE ENCORAGED TO PARTICIPATE!❄️

Ages Groups:
5-17 starts at 12
18+ immediately after
Rules:
- Sleds cannot have plastic or metal bottoms, must be cardboard.
- No offensive decorations.
- No more than 6 participants per sled.
- Any race official who deems a box to be unsafe or not to specifications has the authority to disqualify box team in question.
- All competitors must wear a helmet while sled is on course. All riders and guardians must fill out liability release form before the race starts.
- You must be physically able to push your sled to the top of the hill.
- Check in on race day will start at 11:00am and conclude at 11:30 a.m. Make sure you allow plenty of time to park, check in, and get your sled to the top of the hill before your assigned race time.
- Sleds that fall apart while sledding down, must be picked up and carried down the remainder of the hill.
