Encaustic & Collage With Leslie Giuliani

Clear and pigmented encaustic (heated beeswax) is a very versatile medium. It acts as both an adhesive and a preservative. It can be combined with oil paint, watercolor and ink. Objects can be embedded in it. In this one-day workshop, students will learn the basics of working with encaustic, expanding into collage. Participants may start from scratch or transform their prints, drawings, fabrics, and other collage materials into complexly layered pieces of artwork. No previous experience with encaustic paint is required. All materials will be provided but students are invited to bring personal collage materials. All levels are welcome. GREAT for Beginners!!!
