Description

Join Emmy Award-winning TV news anchor Sarah Cody as she unveils her favorite travel destinations in Connecticut, featured in her new book Around Every Corner in Connecticut. Known for her popular travel segments, "8 Things To Do This Weekend" and "Connecticut Families," Sarah Cody ferrets out the best of the best—places off the beaten path and places that exemplify the scenic beauty of CT.

Book Signing, Travel Talk, and Photography Slideshow —at One of Sarah's Choice Destinations

Sarah will discuss her top CT travel destinations for fall day trips and getaways with the artist and founder of the American Mural Project (AMP), Ellen Griesedieck. She will also share her expedition photography and sign her new book, Around Every Corner in Connecticut. You’ll hear directly from Sarah why some places “made the cut” for her book and which ones are her top picks for couples, students, families, and retirees. Books will be available for purchase at the book signing.

Come early to experience the mural exhibit at AMP, a highlight in the book.

Featured in Sarah’s book as a top destination, the American Mural Project (AMP) in Winsted, CT, is home to the indoor Art of Work mural, a grand-scale tribute to diverse American workers (five stories high and 120 feet long). The larger-than-life mural exhibit is viewed from three levels within the renovated mill building. Through the art, the audio program of workers' stories, and guided tours, guests experience the power of work—and workers—to make a difference.

This event is included with your paid admission to AMP's exhibit. Reserve your seat by purchasing an advance Admission Ticket for the date of the event (Sunday, September 22). The event starts at 3 pm, and the exhibit Admission Ticket is good for the entire day (12 to 5 pm). Parking is free.
